Layne Brady
Layne Brady has always been interested in art. He was one of those grade school kids that could draw well and would tend to draw a crowd (no pun intended) during art time. At the age of 9 his mother brought home a book on Michelangelo and he was spellbound. He determined then and there that he would be an artist when he grew up.
Layne took as many classes in high school as was allowed, spent time at BYU, and earned an associates degree at S.L. Community College and finished up at USU, in Logan, Utah. His emphasis was in Illustration, with a minor in Japanese and as an art major used guitar classes to fulfill humanity credits.
After school, not wanting to move to NY or LA Layne ended up illustrating and doing graphic design for the next 14 years. During this time he continued his fine art education by attending life drawing groups and taking workshops from masters such as Richard Schmid, Zhang WenXin and portrait artist Daniel Greene. Learning to paint and sculpt is an ongoing process and he will be a student for life.
